  • Decreased balance in bank accounts
  • Poor performance at school, work or household responsibilities as a result of this preoccupation
  • Signs of irritability, anxiety or anger when forced to stop gaming (withdrawal)
  • Neglect of other hobbies, friendships and family relations
  • Sleep deprivation or trouble falling asleep
  • Spending money beyond one’s means on in-game purchases and on betting sites
  • Borrowing or stealing money from friends and family
  • Lying to friends and family about how much money and time is spent on online gaming
